Visual Poetry with Viktoria King
Creator Viktoria-Isabella I.V. King is a motivated activist and filmmaker whose drive for new projects is incredible to witness. We’ve both migrated to the West Coast in recent months, and it’s been great to finally get a chance to work with her after these years of knowing her!
Her newest project is a visual poem, created for the Visible Poetry Project. “Freeze Your Brain”, written by high-school student Amelie Caceres. An insightful and impactful meditation on what it means to succeed at what adults say is ‘right’, this short film has taken off — it’s now an Official Selection for the largest poetry film festival in the world, the Zebra Poetry Film Festival.
